FROM THE DESK OF YOUR GOVERNOR
Brothers and Co-workers
This will be my last message
for the year. The Moose year ends April 30th. It’s been a so-so
year, the few volunteers we had have done a great job of putting on the
functions the Board of Officers have laid out for you. The participation
was ok but was not what we had anticipated.
If you want to keep this
lodge going over the summer months, you must put away any animosities you
may have about the past and start supporting your lodge as often as you
can.
There has been a lot of
complaining about the price of drinks. We hear the Legion is a quarter
cheaper, so forth and so on. All the places mentioned do not have a
facility anywhere near as nice as ours. The places are run by a different
set of rules than the Moose. This has a lot to do with our pricing
structure. Just yesterday I stopped at two different Mc Donald’s, 15 miles
apart and bought a shake at each place. There was a 49 cents difference.
When I questioned the price, I was told they were a different franchise
and that's why the price was different. I hope that makes our position a little
more clear. You can’t compare apples with oranges.
By the time you read this
message, I will have formed a nominating committee to find new officers
for next year.
For all you members that
still find it difficult to understand what is going on, you are welcome to
put your name in for a position on the board. Then you can help set policy
and figure out how to pay the never-ending bills and still keep all your
friends. It is a hard job and we need strong people to help us make it
work.
I would like thank everybody
that volunteered and participated in all our functions, you were great.
See you at the Lodge
Governor Jim Neuendorf
